It's actually not necessary. You can totally nurture and help yourself grow by yourself. You don't need another person. But, and that's a big but... Do you have the time to research and find the best answers to your puzzles? More importantly.. how hard would it be to see your own bubble while being in it? I think it's impossible for anyone to see their own face by themselves unless they use a mirror. Friends can sometimes be that mirror. But, nothing can beat a Coach whose entire job is to do this 24*7. The speed, efficiency and accuracy with which you can solve the problems can be astounding with the support of a Life Coach. So, I guess the simple answer to why Life Coaching is that we want to live better or best quality lives starting now and not 10 years later. Life's too short to keep experimenting with basics and re-inventing the wheel again. :)

Depends on what expensive means to you. Every Genuine Coach charges proportionate to the results they produced for their Clients and as a result proportionate to the finesse of their skills and abilities. (Yes, there's frauds out there who artificially charge high without results) So, this is my advice that I implement myself(Yes, I have Coaches too). And here is the advice. Always hire a Genuine Coach who feels a little expensive. Why, you ask? You want to hire someone you can look upto and learn from. If they're not feeling at least a little expensive, you're not stretching yourself or feeling uncomfortable. If it feels like pocket change to you, will you really learn from them or listen to them? And what will be the confidence level, skill or finesse of the person who is charging low? I leave the answers to your discretion. If they're not to your level at least if not above your level, I doubt you'll learn anything from them.

A rocket that hits escape velocity will escape the earth's gravitational pull forever. But if it is still orbiting earth without hitting escape velocity, it may get sucked back in. What does that tell? If we celebrate too early at the earliest signs of trouble disappearing and stop pushing with more effort, we will certainly fall back. But, if we persist well after what looks like early signs of success, until the point of no-return, then and then only it'll truly be over and you'll never ever be the same again.
